Ilhana Tahmaz – Jamak, Spokesperson of the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, FBiH, confirmed to BIRN – Justice Report that the Supreme Court upheld the appeal filed by indictee Trivunovic and revoked the first instance verdict pronounced by the Cantonal Court.

“The case has been referred back to the first instance court, i.e. the Cantonal Court in Livno,“ Tahmaz – Jamak said.

In March this year the Livno Cantonal Court sentenced Trivunovic, under the first instance verdict, to seven years in prison for crimes in Glamoc.

Under the verdict pronounced in March this year, Trivunovic, former member of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, was found guilty of having killed soldier Nikola Anicic, the then member of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO from Tomislavgrad, by shooting him on his head using a revolved in Dolac village, Glamoc municipality on April 11, 1992.

Trivunovic admitted guilt for this crime before the Cantonal Court in Livno. However, at a session held before the Supreme Court of FBiH on June 22 this year he said that his defence attorney talked him into doing it, adding that he did not commit the crime consciously.A.S.
